In order to ensure Community Transport schemes operating in rural areas are affordable to all sections of the general public including those on low incomes they have to be funded or subsidised.
NWCTP Ltd is grant funded by East Sussex County Council, Wealden District Council and the Town and Parish Councils of: Buxted, Crowborough, Danehill, Forest Row, Frant, Hartfield, Maresfield, Mayfield, Rotherfield, Wadhurst & Withyham. Additionally we received in 2010 a grant from the Rural Social Enterprise Programme.
As a registered Charity we are able to receive valuable tax relief on all donations and legacies.
Our present services to the community
We operate under the Transport Act 1985 section 19 and 22 permits. As well as our core daily door to door shopper service we operate a weekly “YOUTHLINK” service to the Venue Forest Row, Transport for a Crowborough Lunch Club as well as a community "trips" service for eligible groups. Additionally we operate service routes 224, 225, & 226 on behalf of East Sussex County Council.
Their is a known demand for regular excursions targeted to combat social exclusion among those who live alone and those who wish to enjoy our beautiful Ashdown Forest area without the necessity to own a car. We are seeking the funding to introduce this service at a realistic cost to passengers.
